The Democrat Civil War of 2019 just kicked up a notch.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just sent some major shade to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and AOC’s leftie allies are losing their minds.
In a “60 Minutes” interview, correspondent Lesley Stahl pointed out the different groups within the House Democratic caucus. “You have these wings — AOC and her group on one side,” Stahl said.
Pelosi abruptly interrupted her, smirking: “That’s like five people.”
OUCH!
Stahl corrected the snarky remark, saying that the “progressive group is more than five.”
“Well, I’m progressive — I’m a progressive, yeah,” Pelosi responded.

Clearly, cud-chewing Nancy is not impressed with how AOC’s Socalists are slowing taking over her caucus beneath her feet, causing a huge fracture just when they can least afford it: with the 2020 elections just around the bend.
But she was not done. Asked about the popularity of Socialism among Democrats, Pelosi instantly snapped back:
“(Socialism) is not the view of the Democratic Party”:
“I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that’s their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party.”

Oh really?
The Congressional Progressive Caucus has 98 members and is the second largest group of Democrats in the Congress. Ocasio-Cortez is one of the group’s most recognizable freshmen members.
But the “five” Pelosi was most likely referring to are AOC, Muslim Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashidi Tlaib
It’s not Pelosi’s first dig at AOC. In a recent interview with USA Today, the House Speaker pointed out that votes are more significant than Twitter followers — a remark that was also interpreted to be a dig at AOC.
“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have a large number of votes on the floor of the House,” Pelosi said.
AOC’s Twitter posse was FURIOUS at Queen Nancy for her numerous slights tonight:
That’s quite a way to welcome a new generation of mostly progressive women of color entering the Democratic Party who are activating young people, people of color, and working-class voters of all backgrounds.

Pelosi: Socialism as an economic system “is not the view of the Democratic Party”!

(It is not Socialism for the Government to provide things like fire and police protection, roads and bridges, health care and public education!)

The BIG problem for Pelosi is that most Democrats DO want Socialism, and they are willing to take her down to get it.
